In business when you want to grow, you come across a number of people to deal with. As business person you know that people are the real resources. They are your employees, your customers and your would-be clients as well. You need to learn as to handle with them. The problem starts when you brand people the difficult people. This creates the first false belief in your mind. This false belief will make you behave this way that whenever any person disagrees with you will brand him the difficult person to deal with. And this behavior may not be the most relevant for the situation.
You need to understand that there is no difficult person, they are just different people. They may mismatch you in their beliefs, values and behaviours. Their body language may be different than that of yours. Their responses may be different from that what you expected in your internal world. In fact they may not be matching your expected criteria.
To overcome this situation, you need to understand their way of perceiving any situation is different from what yours is. For example, some people are motivated by the gains that you are offering to them but some may be motivated to avoid some pains. In case, you are not offering the gains to the first person, he will remain de-motivated. In the same way, in case you are offering a lot of pep talk about the gains to the person in the second case and not addressing his pains, he too will remain de-motivated.
In the business, most of the managers are worried as to how address and motivate their people but they fail to address their inner world.
